Systems Analyst/Programmer (Rails Developer)

Job Description:

Who we are

We are a diverse team of developers at the Feinberg School of Medicine on Northwestern University’s downtown campus. Our group builds software that supports and enhances clinical research. We strive to create high-quality, innovative software using Ruby on Rails and other technologies. We believe in: collaboration, learning from our peers, using the right tool for the job, and open source. We emphasize modern, agile software development practices including BDD and continuous integration. Our projects are used by hundreds of people across the university and help improve research on a daily basis.

Ruby, Rails, jQuery, Compass.

RSpec, Cucumber, Hudson CI.

PostgreSQL, Apache, Passenger.

ActiveMQ, Resque, Redis.

Git, Redmine, Linux, OS X.

Who we are looking for

Someone with:

* a passion for software development, learning, and exploring new technologies

* the desire to work on software that will make a difference

* a preference for working in small teams

* experience or interest in clinical research

* the ability to tackle diverse features (from UI to DB)

* familiarity with REST and how to build interconnected Rails apps
