Senior Web Application Engineer

Job Description:

Digett, an inbound marketing consultancy based just outside of San Antonio, TX, is seeking a passionate Web Application Engineer to help us deliver powerful, innovative inbound marketing platforms to clients, and to help lead the ongoing expansion of Digett’s technical competencies.


* Architect and build custom Drupal applications; perform integration with 3rd party APIs.

* Participate in and contribute to the Drupal community.

* Work with analysts to develop project specifications and estimate development times.

* Help lead the growth of our technical delivery capabilities through team mentoring and architectural planning and implementation.

* Implement and refine our development processes and best practices.

* Work with the team to support new and legacy clients.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

* Strong knowledge and experience using LAMP to deliver CMS-based websites and applications

* Strong command of HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX

* Proficiency in Unix admin/shell programming and command line

* Experience in relational database design and knowledge of SQL syntax

* Experience with use of version control in a multi-developer environment

Other Necessary Qualifications:

* Excellent analytic abilities and problem-solving skills

* Self-motivated and ability to work independently

* Strong work ethic

* Ability to work effectively with designers, producers and other team members, as well as with clients

* Ability to multitask, sometimes handling multiple projects

* Initiative to learn and desire to develop and deepen skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

Special consideration goes to candidates who demonstrate:

* Expert knowledge of and proven experience with Drupal, the Drupal API, theming and custom module development

* Active participation in the Drupal development community

* Systems integration experience

* Knowledge of one or more PHP frameworks (other than Drupal)

* jQuery expertise

* Experience with other programming languages

* Unix/Linux, Apache, basic server administration knowledge

* Database experience outside of MySQL

* Developer team leadership/project management experience
