Contract UI Designer & Web Developer Position

Job Description:

Digital Stores Ltd is the UK’s leading direct to consumer e-commerce retailer for international brands. We build and maintain online stores for music clients like EMI, John Lennon, The Prodigy, The Beatles, Tinie Tempah, Oasis and Stereophonics as well as brands like Marmite, Cartoon Network, The Gruffalo, Bob the Builder, Peppa Pig and more. We are looking to hire a candidate initially on a 6 month contract. You will be reporting to our Senior UI Designer & Web Developer.

We want to see

• 2 + years commercial experience in web interface design

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to take a project from brief to completion

• An understanding of semantic web sites and accessibility

• Ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines and ability to prioritise

• An impressive portfolio that reflects the high design standards that our clients expect

• Strong skills in handcoding html and css

We’ll be even more impressed if you have

• Experience in JQuery

• Experience in optimising webpages and website loading times

• Knowledge of designing websites for mobile platforms

• Experience in designing and coding html newsletters and an understanding of how these are rendered differently across various email clients

• Knowledge of Google Analytics

£120 – £150 per day dependent on experience
