User Experience Designer, Web & Mobile

Job Description:


Blizzard Entertainment has an immediate opening for a web & mobile UX designer. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of information architecture and usability and he or she will be responsible for documenting workflows and creating wireframes based on project requirements, iterative and collaborative design discussions, usability testing, etc.

The designer has strong ideas on creating the optimum user experience, while respecting business requirements, and has the skills necessary to represent these ideas in a visually convincing way, but does need not be a web graphic artist nor a skilled coder.

The designer must demonstrate experience in information architecture and taxonomy. This is crucial as the successful applicant will be relied upon to define these and justify decisions made.

The ideal candidate must be a great communicator as he or she must collaborate with a multitude of stakeholders to generate and maintain documentation, present ideas for feedback and iteration, and help guide the implementation of a project from start to successful launch.

Responsibilities

* Assist with identifying and documenting functional requirements with project stakeholders.

* Visualize the content and functionality of web pages and distil into documentation.

* Produce and maintain wireframes and user flows and coordinate with project management to incorporate feedback and develop consensus.

* Utilize information architecture skills to create site maps for new and existing websites.

* Create clean workflows for complex processes.

Requirements

* 3+ years in a user experience role working on enterprise-scale applications and/or bachelor degree in relevant discipline (human-computer interaction, interaction design, cognitive psychology etc)

* Deep understanding of website usability principles and information architecture

* Ability to observe, understand, and translate research (website usage data, field observation, contextual interviewing, task analysis, usability testing, competitive analyses, industry trends, social trends, and stakeholder interviews) to user interface improvements

* Proficiency using Microsoft Visio or an equivalent wireframing application.

* Awareness of current trends in web and UX design

* Excellent documentation and presentation skills

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Unrelenting self-motivation and initiative

Pluses

* Experience planning and conducting user testing on prototypes and/or end products

* Mid/Hi-fidelity prototyping skills in Axure, Flash or equivalent

* Passion for games and/or game industry experience

* Experience designing applications for a global and multi-lingual user base

* Experience designing for the mobile platform.
