<p>The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire an experienced Mobile Media Specialist to provide support for the School of Journalism at West Virginia University. This position provides development and deployment of media-based web, mobile and tablet applications using the latest technologies, including PHP, JQuery, HTML5, and CSS3. Incumbent is responsible for the development of an open-source media publishing system, and creating innovative location-based media services. Will also coordinate a mobile initiative region wide and deploy applications in selected communities.<br />
<br />Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, New Media Communications or related field; two to four years’ experience programming, developing and designing new media applications; and one to two years project management experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for requisites.<br />

<p>Washtenaw Community College is looking for a Mobile Developer I. The Mobile Developer I develops mobile applications for deployment on the iOS and Android platforms. The Mobile Developer I also utilizes PHP and SQL to maintain existing complex web worms and pages in a LAMP environment. The Mobile Developer I adheres to established department programming practices and guidelines and works in coordination with other Information Technology Services staff as well as other staff across the College.This is a temporary position. No continuing employment rights are inferred. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: &#8211; Develop mobile applications to be deployed on the iOS and Android mobile platforms. &#8211; Maintain existing PHP and SQL scripts on complex, dynamic web pages and forms. &#8211; Troubleshoot existing scripts and suggest enhancements. &#8211; Document code, forms and procedures. &#8211; Markup semantically correct XHTML pages &#8211; Interact with key stakeholders throughout the college. &#8211; Adheres to established department programming practices and guidelines Related Duties: &#8211; Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Web Services. <p><strong>Preffered candidates will have:﻿</strong>                       </p>
<p>• Experience with Cocoa and Objective C ﻿</p>
<p>• Experience with iOS development</p>
<p>• Familiarity with other mobile OS development platforms a plus</p>
<p>• Computer Science or engineering background a plus</p>
<p>• Good sense of design, from products to typography</p>
<p>• An interest in books and art</p>
<p>• Excellent communication skills.</p>
