Position Description

The Web Services/Mobile Developer will work in developing a core web service, database and storage system for efficiently handling document storage that will provide the backend for web, mobile and desktop applications. These services must be designed to be load-balanced across potentially large numbers of machines efficiently, and must support the ability to dynamically scale without downtime. The Web Service/Mobile Developer will also be responsible for maintenance and modifications to mobile applications on iOS and Android operating systems.


• BS in Computer Science or equivalent in demonstrated proficiency.

• A minimum of 2 years of Web Service development, preferably using an established Python-based framework (Django or Pylons).

• Demonstrated proficiency with Python is a must.

• Experience with at least 2 or more of the C-based languages: C, C++, Objective-C, and C#.

• Knowledge and experience with SQL programming, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Some experience with shipping iPhone or Android application.

• Mobile application development experience (iPhone and/or Android).

• Windows programming experience as well as some MAC programming experience.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment with source code management systems (such as Subversion or CVS).


• Have experience working with remote teams across multiple time zones.

• Be an independent problem solver, able to work outside the areas of his/her expertise to achieve critical objectives.

• Have the ability to learn new languages, frameworks and operating systems quickly to keep up with changes in the field.

• Have the ability to learn and become proficient modifying large, complex proprietary codebases.
